09/2006 - 07/2011 AMEC Environment & Infrastructure, RLS, Mesa, Arizona

  • 3 year contract with ADOT (Arizona Department of Transportation) to provide quality assurance on survey related issues. Field verified survey field staking, calculated volumes, collected field data, processed data, created CAD drawings, troubleshooting problems, used CAD to convey problems and possible solutions.
  • RLS duties included creating and stamping property descriptions and exhibits. Field surveying monuments, ensuring they were properly documented and collected, township and section calculations to find or re-establish missing monuments. Monitored budget and work underway.
  • Created information packages for field surveyors, containing control, project requirements, and other important information. Processed incoming field work, ensured data coming in was complete and fulfilled project requirements. Helped set up automated linework based on field coding.

  • Worked in Northern Manitoba surveying along contour line to establish flood limits for dam liability.

  • Monitoring surveys on buildings to ensure they were not affected by neighboring construction activities. Boundary surveys searching for monuments, properly documenting found monuments.

  • Performed field surveys which included detailed topographic surveys, construction staking of subdivision (house corners, street layout, sub-surface utilities), boundary surveys of both large and small sized properties. Massachusetts is not on the rectangular survey systems being one of the 13 original colonies.
  • Processing data, documenting, and creating final client deliverables. Developed thorough work documentation skills. Performed some property research on non-computerized index cards.
